The rest of Christmas break and New Year's

We spent the day after Christmas (in Ohio) at the Museum. Other than the T-Rex dinosaur which nearly scared the  kids to death (it was motion-sensored and very "life-like" when it roared!) they had so much fun exploring all there was to do.

Harper and Nate at the two-way mirror/light exhibit.

 Learning about tornados
There was a history component to this museum as well and they loved the model train village.
Afterwards, we walked up the steps of the McKinnley Monument and then Harper and Andrew "slid" down that wide railing to the left, nearly giving me a heart attack! They were pretty worn out by the end of the day!
We headed back to Louisville and Erin, Mark, Leena and Julianne came to Louisville for a few days on their way home from Peoria to see Mark's family. Julianne is just learning to walk and in this picture is getting some encouragement from Harper.
 Andrew adores his cousin!
Dinner at our house one night…these girls lived in their princess costumes!

The Science Center here had free Tuesdays admission once a month so we took full advantage of that! We met Mark and Erin and Amanda and Matt plus all the kids. It was a wild but fun-filled morning!
Nate was even able to sneak away and walk over from work to hang out while we were there!
Erin and Amanda with sweet Julianne…hard to believe we all have 2 kids now!
The big girls playing on one of the displays.

I think they were shadow dancing here…they moved too quickly to capture a good photo.
On New Year's Eve we had everyone back over to our house, plus a few more friends. We ordered pizza and tried to have adult conversation despite the chaos of all the kids. I love a house full of people so this was such a fun night!

Gina and Leigh-Anne came by too!
All of the girls (minus Paige who wasn't here yet)... we have all known each other since middle school. I am so thankful we are all still friends!

Christmas 2014

We began Christmas this year by putting up our tree the day after Thanksgiving. I always love to do it as soon as possible so we can enjoy it for as long as possible!
They were ecstatic about  helping to put ornaments on…and only 5 or 6 broke!
We went for a hike per our usual Saturday routine...

Someone has reached the stage where she wants to wear her princess dress all the time…hence the many pictures of her in it at random times throughout the day.
Just watching a cartoon on a cold and cloudy afternoon…I am already anxious for spring!
 Baking Christmas cookies…our annual tradition!
For their Advent Calendar activity one day we went to the Pie Kitchen…I may or may not have had a major pregnancy craving for caramel apple pie...

I hosted a cookie exchange at my  house for my mom's group…we had so much fun and I ended up with way too many cookies at the end of the night!

Cold nights equal cozy fires…one of my (only) favorite things about winter!
My mom and dad were headed up to NY to stay with Laura and Josh after the babies were born so we did an early Christmas dinner/gift exchange at their house. This is the only picture I got but I think it fully captures the chaos of opening gifts with small kids!
 Andrew's preschool party…they decorated cookies...

After the party the kids sang Christmas songs for the parents…it was of course the cutest!
The morning before church when our family lit the Advent candle…Harper  marched down the aisle, refusing to hold my  hand, yelling "Let me DO it!" multiple times while Andrew smelled the poinsettias. At least we were entertaining!
Amanda, my childhood friend, brought came over one afternoon and the kids all played together while we caught up!
Christmas Eve picture in front of the tree.
Setting out cookies and milk (and a carrot) for Santa.
Christmas morning was simple and fun…we opened gifts and had breakfast casserole, just our little family.
Nate got Andrew a "real" tool box for all his many tools.
After gifts and breakfast, we headed north to Ohio and got there in time for dinner and gifts.

This crane truck was, by far, Andrew's favorite gift!
What is happening in this picture? Nate is rubbing in the fact that I found the pickle on the tree (first the I beat Joe in 4 years!). Nate's mom does this tradition with us 4 each year and gives a gift card to the winner!

November and Thanksgiving

November was cold! It began with a snow day (and we have yet to have any snow in December or January yet!)

Andrew loves to shovel the driveway and I hope he always is so willing to do this task:)
Andrew at his cute preschool party "feast" where they sang a little song and ate lunch.
We did a few hikes and this girl is getting so good at hiking on her own…she can do about 1.5 miles no problem and loves to try to keep up with Andrew.
Helping me make cookies one cold morning.

Thanksgiving weekend, Kelsey, Joe and Beau made the trip to Louisville. We started out with pizza at Za's on Wednesday night.
 Cousin hugs!
Thanksgiving Day Nate's parents and Diddy drove down. We had appetizers all morning before our big meal that evening.
 Harper snuggling with Opaw
The table is set and ready for some turkey!
Nate's mom took a picture to document my 17 week point with this pregnancy…definitely a bump!
It took all 4 of us to get the turkey brined and cooked but it was worth it!

Snuggling on the couch watching a movie after dinner.
All of us at dinner…Omi was chosen for the kids table of course and kindly accepted;)
