Warm weather fun!

We've been outside nonstop in May…loving this weather!

Andrew and his buddy at the splash park.
Mother's Day with my sweet girl and boy!

We went to Forest Fest at Jefferson Memorial Forest to watch some bluegrass music.

Erin brought Leena and Julianne up from Nashville. Harper and Leena missed each other!
 Swinging in my parents' backyard...
…while Harper and I enjoy my mom's garden. It is so pretty in the spring!
Erin and I took the girls to the zoo and they held hands like this the entire time. It took a long time to get anywhere but they had fun!
Then we went to the park again!
Warm weather means breakfast on the porch!
And Andrew got to camp out for the first time with Nate in the backyard…they made it until about 3AM when he was ready to come in!

Andrew's 4th birthday

It is so hard to believe but our little boy is 4 years old! He has grown up so much this year and has such a fun and loving personality. Omi and Opaw came down for the weekend and we had a simple family party to celebrate.
 Balloons are always a hit!

Omi got Harper a little gift as well…sand toys for our beach trip this summer!
Andrew got  his "JCB Backhoe loader" as requested:)
The birthday boy enjoying his burgers.
Andrew said, "You all are both my most favorite grandma's!"
Blowing out the candles on his cookie cake.

We went to Mellow Mushroom for pizza Sat. night, another favorite of Drew's.

And these are out of order but more birthday pictures opening presents.

The end result of the weekend…hours of fun setting up his meticulous construction sites!

Outside in April

April finally brought warmer weather and sunny skies! We spent as much time outside as possible of course. This is one afternoon that was particularly windy so we took a kite to the park.

Andrew had his preschool Family Fun Day one Saturday morning. It was a great festival complete with a real fire truck that he got to pretend to drive!
Later that afternoon, we packed the kids into our bike trailer and headed down to the waterfront to watch the Thunder Over Louisville air show. The "Blue Angels" performed all sorts of crazy air tricks and both Drew and Harper had fun watching. We decided the best way to get down to Thunder is on our bikes from now on…no traffic!

It was so loud when they flew over our heads that he covered his ears every. single. time.
My dad had the same idea as we did to bike down…I can't believe we found him in the crow!
We ran into some friends from church and Andrew and his buddy Taber had fun playing.

We finished out the weekend with some porch work. We've had temporary (read…ugly) rails up for a year. Nate has taken the past few weekends to build some nice ones for us. I'll post a final picture after I get through painting each and every spindle:)

March photos

It's been awhile since I updated the blog…after downloading all my photos to the computer, I realized how far behind I've gotten. Here's a quick recap of the rest of March…
A few pictures I took one afternoon when we had some good lighting in our family room.

He's not quite there yet, but working on it!

I made a quick trip to Nashville for the girls to play together…Leena and Harper love each other!
At the zoo in their sunglasses...

St. Patrick's Day parade in the Highlands…a tradition for us now! The Molly Malone's float (above) was by far the most impressive:)

Nate's shoulders were a popular place to see the parade.
One warm day we met Nate down at the waterfront for a picnic during his lunch break.
And we finally got our garden in order again…planting spinach, lettuce and peas in this picture.
Harper watched from the comfort of the porch.
She loves to kick the soccer ball!
A moment of sibling love…caught on camera!
And a Saturday morning hike, our usual activity for the weekend.
This was a good 4 mile hike and we were proud of Andrew for handling the length (and the hills) but Harper was too tuckered out just from riding in the backpack to stay awake!
Cuddling on Dad in the evening.
