January in one post!

January is the most dreaded month of the year for me  but we've almost made it through. I am such an outdoors person and a sunshine/warm weather person at that. We have had some of the coldest weather EVER around here and that makes getting out with small children kind of difficult. Luckily, there was some snow mixed in here and there. Other than that, we've been hibernating, which is kind of nice for a little while. And now on the last few days of January, I'm ready for spring! Here is a review of the month in pictures:
New Year's Eve…we had some friends over and poor Aaron tried to teach us how to play Settlers of Catan (sp?) Gina and I decided we are not board game players but we had fun hanging out with everyone and rounding out the "eating season" post-Christmas with even more good food!
Harper helps me put away the silverware every morning…
This is Harper "praying" which she make us do about 5 times at every meal. She loves to fold her hands and then declare "AMEN!" in a loud voice.
Hibernating on a cold Saturday means staying in our pi's and reading books.
Andrew, however, is never bored and always finds some useful thing to do when given a piece of string and some tape...
I continually find him "fixing" things all around our house.
This is a terribly blurry picture (we need a new i-phone) but Drew has started soccer and loves it! It is basically organized chaos with lots of small children running around trying to kick the ball but it burns some energy so we are all happy:)
One Monday Nate had off, we went to the zoo…the herb-aquarium is heated and has plenty of snakes and fish to look at.
It was even warm enough that day to play on the zoo playground!
Nate and Drew watching the sea-lions being fed and doing tricks.
 Polar bear watching!

Sometimes I find them both on the vent in the morning just "warming' up" as Andrew says.
And we've done a lot of late morning snuggling in bed on these cold days.
Another blurry picture, but Erin came up with Leena and Julianne. These 2 girls had a blast together and I got to love on both of my nieces too!
 Cousin bathtime!
Leena and Harper driving the car at the "Ark" at my parents' church.
The much anticipated snow did not disappoint…we headed straight to Cherokee park to go sledding.
At the top of the hill…it's a pretty steep one!

Andrew rode with Nate a few times and then was fine going down on his own over and over again. He was in heaven with all the fun he was having!

After we got back from the park, Nate and Andrew built a snow fort in the front yard.

And Harper found Nate's socks…this picture captures a typical moment in our house pretty well:)

Since the weather hit 50 degrees on Sunday, Nate and I decided grilling out was absolutely necessary…too bad the temps dropped that night back to single digits. We made the most of our day outside though while the weather lasted!
