I have no idea how my little boy is 3 years old...It feels like we just brought him home from the hospital as a tiny little baby! He is every bit of a 3-year-old boy too...into trucks, cars, construction equipment, digging for bugs in the backyard, obsessed with helping Dad mow the lawn or use use power tools (his own toy ones of course but if we didn't watch him, I'm pretty sure he'd be out on the deck with the jigsaw...), tormenting his sister one second and hugging and kissing her the next, pretending to be a dinosaur and then an alligator (he attacks me frequently and says..."Uh oh, Mom, there's a big alligator comin' for ya!"), running wild in the yard (stopping only to pee in the bushes despite my attempts to convince him that it will only take 2 extra seconds to go inside and use the bathroom), riding his tricycle in the driveway, playing in the hose, and climbing on everything in sight.
At the same time, he is so sweet and affectionate. I cherish all these hugs and kisses I get because I know a day will come (sniff, sniff) when he won't offer them so freely. He is every bit of a stubborn and strong-willed 3-year old boy as well. If I tell him to do the simplest task (take off your shoes, wash your hands, put that down...) he loses it. It's kind of funny sometimes but just as quickly, he's over his outburst and onto the next activity. He knows what he wants and if it doesn't align with what I want, then conflict is inevitable! Life with a pre-schooler:)
As usual, Nate and I find ourselves laughing at all his antics and the things he says and does. We can't believe how much he's grown and changed over the last year alone. Life with 2 little ones is crazy and exhausting for sure, but so much fun too.
For Drew's birthday, we had a small family party with my parents, Nate's parents and grandma all able to be there to celebrate with us.
Waking up on his birthday morning to presents!Harper checking out the new toy front-loader he got (I mistakenly called it a digger and was immediately corrected by Andrew:)
Omi knows what this boy wants...a weed-wacker!
Omi and Opaw with their boy
Harper and Diddy played ball in the living roomAnd watched Andrew open his leaf-blower from Omi too.
The family room is finished but not furnished so it makes a great place to roll around on the radio flyer-saucer.
Harper doesn't seem to mind a leaf-blower in her face.
Family photo...last year we took a similar picture but Harper was in my belly!
The Moulder clan!
Harper got plenty of attention from both her grandpa's!
Opening books from Granna
Singing Happy birthday to our boy!
He requested a digger cake...and it was a hit!
